Luna Yu, is the founder and CEO of Genecis, a company aimed at transforming food waste into a biodegradable form of plastic called PHA. PHAs can degrade in less than 10 years if in water – which is much better compared to synthetic plastic that can take hundreds of years to degrade. PHAs are useful for high-end products, like toys, medical supplies and 3D-printing filaments.
